Sister Marie (Mary) Martha Chambon was a lay sister of the Monastery of the Visitation who died in Chambery, France in 1907. She reported visions of Jesus Christ who taught her specific prayers and meditations on His wounds. Some of her prayers have received the imprimatur of Archbishop Albert G. Meyer.

She reported that Jesus asked her to unite her sufferings with His as an Act of Reparation for the sins of the world. He gave her 17 promises and also told her:
"Come to My Wounds with hearts burning with love, and make the aspirations with great fervor that you may obtain the graces and favors you desire. Come to this wound in My Side; it is the Wound of Love from which issue flames of fire. You must pray that the knowledge of My Sacred Wounds may spread in the world". (As He said these words, Sr. Marie (Mary) Martha saw five luminous rays of glory issue from the Wounds of Christ, and envelop the globe.)
"My Holy Wounds sanctify souls and insure their spiritual advancement...Offer Me your actions united to My Sacred Wounds, and even the smallest will have an incomprehensible value. Offer them often to Me for sinners because I thirst for souls. At each word of the invocation that you utter, I will let a drop of My Blood fall upon the soul of a sinner."
Sister Marie (Mary) Martha was granted a vision in which she saw Jesus holding a cup full of His Precious Blood and how He placed a drop of His Blood in different souls, including the souls of her mother and father. This brought great consolation to Sister Marie-Marthe. Jesus then told her: “The graces that I bestow in this manner are never lost.”
Sister Martha Chambon had great zeal for souls, especially the dying. Jesus told her:
“You must offer the merits of the Holy Wounds for persons who die in the night or during the course of the day.” Jesus told her of this great gift He had given to her community: “Behold your treasure. The treasure of the Holy Wounds encloses crowns which you should take and give to others. One day these souls for whom you shall have obtained a holy death by your prayers, will turn towards you to thank you. All men shall appear before Me on the judgment day, and I shall then point out My privileged Spouses, who shall have purified the world by My Holy Wounds.”
“You should not remain poor. Your wealth?... It is My Holy Passion. This treasure belongs to you. My Father takes pleasure in the offering of my Holy Wounds offering them to Him is offering Him His Own Glory, it is offering Heaven to Heaven! My Holy Wounds support the world.”
“My Holy Wounds sustain the world. Love them because they are fountains of all graces. Invoke them frequently and invite your neighbor to do the same for the benefit of the souls.”
'When you offer My Holy Wounds for sinners, you must not forget to do so for the souls in Purgatory, as there are but few who think of their relief.”
Another practice of Saint Mary Martha was offering her actions in union with the Holy Wounds for the conversion of sinners and for the souls in purgatory. In this way, she obtained the release of many souls. The chaplet of the Holy Wounds is a very efficacious way of helping the poor souls. Jesus told her once:
“My daughter, look at my Wounds, offer them for the souls in Purgatory. The sufferings of My Holy Passion, behold the great remedy for these souls; but its merits must be applied to them.”
“The benefit of the Holy Wounds makes graces come down from Heaven, and Holy Souls come up onto Heaven. The Holy Wounds are the treasure of treasures for the souls in Purgatory.”
"I would like to see all my Spouses be 'Crucifixes.' My daughter, look at My Crown, and you shall see mortification, My hands stretched out, and you shall learn obedience, you shall understand poverty when you see Me all unclothed on the Cross, purity in the One who is so pure and who loves you as your Spouse! Everywhere, you will find Wounds in your Spouse. This is where those I have chosen and who want to attain glory must walk. I want you to be a standing victim!"

Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich’s visions of the Church and the Holy Wounds:
“On it hung the Savior from whose wounds shot brilliant rays over the whole earth. These glorious wounds were red like resplendent doorways, their center golden-yellow like the sun. He wore no crown of thorns, but from all the wounds of His head streamed rays. Those from His hands, feet, and side were fine as hair and shone with rainbow colors; sometimes they all united and fell upon villages, cities, and houses throughout the world. I saw them (the rays) here and there, far and near, falling upon the dying, and then souls entering by the colored rays into the Savior’s wounds.”
Beginning Prayer Asking for Help of the Holy Souls: Holy suffering souls, who can obtain so many graces for us, remember me in the midst of your sufferings. I will work unceasingly to obtain for you the joys of heaven, and I know you will plead for me.

PASSION OF CHRIST, STRENGTHEN ME: Passion of Christ, strengthen me! Strengthen me under the pressure of temptation. Strengthen me when principle is at stake. Strengthen me to do Your Will, My God. Strengthen me in moments of suffering, in times of loneliness, in periods of depression. Strengthen me that I may never swerve from You, dear Christ, nor weaken through human respect, through a desire to be popular, through hope of social distinction. Strengthen me to accept my cross and carry it generously to the end. On the battlefield of life, stand by me that I may never prove a traitor in the ranks. Stand by me that I may not be dazzled by the glitter and glow of the enemy camp. Amen.
A VERY USEFUL MANNER OF HIDING ONESELF IN THE FIVE SACRED WOUNDS: [This was taught to St. Mechtilde by Christ Himself as she went to kiss the Cross one Good Friday.] (Book 1, ch. 23 and 29).
I THANK Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, for the painful Wound of Thy left foot, from which flowed the Precious Blood that washes away our sins. In it I sink and hide all the sins I have ever committed. Amen.
I thank Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, for the painful Wound of Thy right foot, from which the fountain of peace flowed to us. In its depths I sink and bury all my desires, that they may be purified and remain unspotted by any earthly stain. Amen.
I thank Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, for the painful Wound of Thy left hand, from which the well of grace flowed to us. In it I enclose all my spiritual and bodily ills, that in union with Thy sufferings they may become sweet to me, and by patience become a fragrant odor before God. Amen.
I thank Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, for the painful Wound of Thy right hand, from which the medicine of the soul was poured forth. In it I hide all my negligence’s and omissions which I have committed in my virtuous exercises, that they may be atoned for by Thy zealous works. Amen.

“One night while I was praying,” writes St. Veronica Giuliani, “I beheld issuing from the side of Our Saviour a liquid which exhaled a heavenly perfume, and it filled up a kind of fountain which stood before the Lord. I saw many souls plunge into it. The Lord gave me to understand that these were the pure souls who had given themselves absolutely to Him.”
Promises of Our Lord for Those Who Practice this Devotion:
1. At each word that you pronounce of the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds, I allow a drop of My Blood to fall upon the soul of a sinner.
2. Each time that you offer to My Father the merits of My divine Wounds, you win an immense fortune.
3. Souls that will have contemplated and honored My crown of thorns on earth, will be My crown of glory in Heaven!
4. I will grant all that is asked of Me through the invocation of My Holy Wounds. This devotion must be spread. You will obtain everything, because it is through the merit of My Blood, which is of infinite price. With My Wounds and My Divine Heart, everything can be obtained.
5. From My Wounds proceed fruits of sanctity. As gold purified in the crucible becomes more beautiful, so you must put your soul and those of your companions into My sacred Wounds; there they will become perfected as gold in the furnace. You can always purify yourself in My Wounds.
6. My Wounds will repair yours. My Wounds will cover all your faults. Those who honor them will have a true knowledge of Jesus Christ. In meditation on them, you will always find a new love. My Wounds will cover all your sins.
7. Plunge your actions into My Wounds and they will be of value. All your actions, even the least, soaked in My Blood, will acquire by this alone an infinite merit and will please My Heart.
8. In offering My Wounds for the conversion of sinners, even though the sinners are not converted, you will have the same merit before God as if they were.
9. When you have some trouble, something to suffer, quickly place it in My Wounds, and the pain will be alleviated.
10. This aspiration must often be repeated near the sick: "My Jesus, pardon and mercy through the merits of Your Holy Wounds!" This prayer will solace soul and body.
11. A sinner who will say the following prayer will obtain conversion: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls."
12. There will be no death for the soul that expires in My Holy Wounds; they give true life.
13. This chaplet is a counterpoise to My justice; it restrains My vengeance.
14. Those who pray with humility and who meditate on My Passion, will one day participate in the glory of My divine Wounds.
15. The more you will have contemplated My painful Wounds on this earth, the higher will be your contemplation of them glorious in Heaven.
16. The soul who during life has honored the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ and has offered them to the Eternal Father for the Souls in Purgatory, will be accompanied at the moment of death by the Holy Virgin and the angels; and Our Lord on the Cross, all brilliant in glory, will receive her and crown her.
17. The invocations of the Holy Wounds will obtain an incessant victory for the Church.
18. My Holy Wounds support the world ask me to love them constantly, for they are the source of graces. One must invoke them often, attract others to them and instill this devotion in the souls.

On the Crown of Thorns
I will heal the wounds of their hearts, those who adore My Sacred Head through this Crown.
I will console those who console Me through this Crown.
I will open the ocean of the Divine Mercy on those who adore the wounds of My Sacred Head through this Crown.
All who adore the Most Precious Blood from My Sacred Head through this Crown will receive the grace of Divine Wisdom.

Our Lord showed her this gaping, open Wound and revealed its depth:
“The Pain is incomprehensible in the hearts of My children! How this devotion pleases and consoles Me, how often have the prayers of these Wounds risen to My Heart and have torn (open) the (way of) salvation for souls entrusted to Hell.” (May 17, 1878)
(That is, devotion to the Holy Wound has saved souls from damnation by granting the graces for salvation.)

8 - “I will shelter them, I will assist them, I will console all the souls that seek to propagate this Sacred Wound. At the time of death, I will console the souls that have compensated Me by their devotion and compassion to the Wound so deep and painful. I will come to strengthen them in their final fears. I will come and prepare their passage: Thank you, you who have compensated Me for My pains.” (May 17,1878)
9 - “See,” Jesus said, pointing to His Sacred Wound with extreme tenderness, “all My children who have recognised this Wound, who have venerated it, have prayed to it, will have on the Last Day a great and generous reward. I do not simply show it, I pronounce it. My Word is Divine.” (May 17, 1878)

It is related in the annals of Clairvaux that St. Bernard asked Our Lord which was His greatest unrecorded suffering and Our Lord answered: "I had on My Shoulder, while I bore My Cross on the Way of Sorrows, a grievous Wound, which was more painful than the others and which is not recorded by men. Honor this Wound with thy devotion and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask through Its virtue and merit. And in regard to all those who shall venerate this Wound, I will remit to them all their venial sins and will no longer remember their mortal sins."
This revelation and promise of Our Dear Savior is another proof of His unlimited mercy. You are urged to say these prayers daily and to promulgate this prayer on a continuous basis, so that others may share in this blessing.
PRAYER TO THE SHOULDER WOUND OF OUR LORD JESUS: "O Loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou didst bear Thy heavy Cross, which so tore Thy flesh and laid bare Thy Bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other wound of Thy Most Blessed Body. I adore Thee, O Jesus most sorrowful; I praise and glorify Thee, and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and painful Wound, beseeching Thee by that exceeding pain, and by the crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins, and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Thy Cross and supply for me everything I need and look for from Thine infinite Mercy (especially …). Holy Mother, imprint in my heart and mind the wounds of the Crucified Jesus Christ and your seven sorrows. O Sweet Jesus, please do not be my Judge, be my Saviour.
Ejaculatory prayers and offerings of the Holy Wounds and Precious Blood:
“Ask My Father for as many souls as I shed drops of Blood during My Passion.”- Our Lord to Sr. Mary of St. Peter: Eternal Father, I ask of Thee as many souls as was the number of the drops of Blood as Thy Divine Son shed in His Passion, among the living, the dying and the souls in Purgatory - multiplied by the number of wounds Jesus bore on His Body. Amen.
(She [Sister Marie de Saint-Pierre] was given a vision of Hell and the multitude of souls falling in, and was invited to pray for poor sinners. Dec. 21, 1846). (the drops of blood which I lost were 28,430.)(St. Bridget was praying in the Church of St. Paul in Rome, Jesus appeared to her and said, “I received 5840 Wounds upon My Body.”)
An Offering of the Holy Wounds and Precious Blood: Eternal Father, I offer You the Holy Wounds of Your Divine Son, Jesus, and His Precious Blood, for the conversion of sinners and for the relief of the souls in Purgatory. (St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi learned from Our Lord to offer to the Eternal Father the Blood of His Divine Son. She made the offering 50 times a day, and in one of her ecstasies she saw a large number of sinners converted, and of souls delivered from Purgatory by this practice.) Jesus added: “Each time that a creature offers to My Father the Blood by which she has been redeemed, she offers Him a gift of infinite value.”

First Station: Jesus Condemned to Death
O Jesus! So meek and uncomplaining, teach me resignation in trials.

Promises made by OUR LORD to those who have devotion to THE WAY OF THE CROSS:
BROTHER ESTANISLAO (1903 - 1927)
At the age of 18, a young Spaniard entered the Novitiate of The Brothers of the Christian Schools at Bugedo. He took the Vow of Regularity, Perfection and Pure Love. In October, 1926, he offered himself to Jesus through Mary. Soon after this heroic donation, he felt ill, and was obliged to rest. He died saintly in March 1927. He was, according to the master of novices, a privileged soul, who received Messages from Heaven. Confessors and Theologians recognized these supernatural facts. His Director asked him to write the Promises made by OUR LORD to those who have devotion to THE WAY OF THE CROSS: They are:
1. I will grant everything that is asked of Me with faith, when making The Way of the Cross.
2. I promise Eternal Life to those who pray from time to time, The Way of the Cross.
3. I will follow them everywhere in life and I will help them, especially at the hour of death.
4. Even if they have more sins than the blades of grass in the fields and the grains of sand in the sea, all of them will be erased by The Way of the Cross. (Note: This promise does not eliminate the obligation to confess all mortal sins, and this, before we can receive Holy Communion.)
5. Those who pray The Way of the Cross often will have a special glory in Heaven.
6. I will deliver them from Purgatory, indeed if they go there at all, the first Tuesday or Friday after their death.
7. I will bless them at each Way of the Cross, and My blessing will follow them everywhere on earth and, after their death, in Heaven for all Eternity.
8. At the hour of death I will not permit the devil to tempt them; I will lift all power from him in order that they will repose tranquilly in My Arms.
9. If they pray it with true love, I will make of each one of them a living Ciborium in which it will please Me to pour My grace.
10. I will fix My Eyes on those who pray The Way of the Cross often; My hands will always be open to protect them.
11. As I am nailed to the Cross, so also will I always be with those who honor Me in making The Way of the Cross frequently.
12. They will never be able to separate themselves from Me, for I will give them the grace never again to commit a Mortal sin.
13. At the hour of death I will console them with My Presence and we will go together to Heaven. Death will be sweet to all those who have honored Me during their lives by praying The Way of the Cross.
14. My soul will be a protective shield for them, and will always help them, whenever they have recourse.
